Meet Greer

Greer S. Vega is a retired Coast Guard veteran turned children’s author, building a second career rooted in story, service, and heart.

For nearly three decades, Greer chased storms, solved high-stakes problems, and helped others find safe passage across uncertain seas. Today, she brings that same steady hand to storytelling—crafting picture books, early chapter books, and middle grade fiction meant to guide young readers through life’s emotional, moral, and messy moments.

Her stories are for pragmatic kids and the grown-ups who love them—families who want humor, honesty, and heart, not sugarcoated lessons. Whether she's writing about big emotions, tricky choices, or the kind of courage that starts quiet, Greer’s goal is always the same: to help readers find their way, and keep finding it.

She lives in the Midwest with her husband, three wild kids, two needy dogs, and one aloof cat. When she’s not writing, she’s quilting, rereading colonial history, or unraveling a true crime podcast with a cup of tea in hand.
