Meet Greer

Greer S. Vega writes stories for curious kids and the grown-ups who love them. A lifelong explorer of coastlines, archives, and unanswered questions, she blends history with imagination to help young readers find their own true north.

Her debut picture book, Nell the Navigator and the Starbound Schooner, launches in Fall 2025 and kicks off the Wayfinder Stories series—a collection of magical adventures rooted in truth, wonder, and the stars.

Greer grew up in the gorgeous Hudson Valley - but cherished her summer days with family on the New England coast. Her longing for the sea and adventure drew her to the life of a sailor. She spent nearly three decades in the U.S. Coast Guard, chasing storms, solving problems, and always looking for the lighthouse on the horizon. Today, she writes from a quiet midwestern home, surrounded by her husband, 3 wild kids, 2 needy dogs, and 1 aloof cat, half-finished quilts, and too many books.

When she’s not writing, she’s probably stitching, stargazing, or drinking tea by the sea.
